Powerful Pam
I have know Pam for about a year through the gym, mutual friends and the fitness community. I was immediately impressed by her lifting skills when I first met her. Let me tell you, Pam can deadlift, squat and press like its nobody’s business, and on top of that she is tiny. But don’t let her small stature fool you, Pam means business, and when it comes to her fitness, and she is her number one advocate. I will be honest, I was surprised when she approached me about doing the 4 WEEKS TO FAB program due to her diligent training regime and lifestyle. But after chatting with Pam and listening to her concerns about too many excess indulgences and no real “goal or path” for the new year, and the fact that she wanted another type of challenge! I was so thrilled and cannot be happier with her progress. We focussed on MORE food for Pam, NO cardio and adding in some complimentary moves to Olympic Lifting. The results speak for themselves, more muscle, more shape and more confidence. So proud of you Pam; you are definitely, Small but Mighty!“When I signed up for Rita’s four weeks to fab, my goal was to “get back on the rails,” be more diligent about food preparation, add some variety to my fridge and training program. I would use the four weeks to establish my 2014 fitness goals & have some awesome pictures that can share with my family and friends – Pretty simple right?Over the course of the 4-week program something happened, I recognized it right away because, it’s a reoccurring lesson in my life. People started to ask, “why are doing this, you look fine, and you go to the gym already? ” “You would look better if you weighed more.” It wasn’t all-bad there were plenty of people I know that thought it was a great idea, or that they wish they had the determination and willpower that I did.Whether good or bad, I have placed a lot value on the actions and opinions of others. I am learning that if I don’t care what others think of me, what they say and do doesn’t matter. This lesson comes in many forms. Sometimes it’s easy for me,and other times I really struggle. While lessons good or bad, I am blessed that I have many teachers. They come disguised as colleagues, trainers, friends with big dreams, neighbors who are not neighborly, Facebook posts, Instagram and twitter feeds, at the gym, or an unexpected email. It could be someone who is mean and judgmental, or someone who is sad and alone. Sometimes there are no words and it’s as simple as a smile from a stranger. While adding awesome tools to my training and nutrition arsenal, setting some goals and getting back on the rails, the past 4 weeks has been an affirmation for me – I am the chooser of my dreams;they are mine to pursue with honesty and integrity. It is up to me to discover what I want to do in the world and then only I can go out there and create the life I want.Rita you are a beautiful and inspirational person. Thank you. “
