Out Of Africa
When I stared my online training program, it was to reach out to people in nearby cities who couldn’t make my one-on-one sessions. I never imagined I would be reaching people as far as New York, Alaska, and Paris, let alone- AFRICA! My next client has been with me for over 2 years and is an amazing inspiration. Mother of 5 and determined as hell, Sophia is a force to be reckoned with. Her fire, passion and love for her family is evident in all she does. Take it away my African Princess!!!!!
“The first time I heard of Rita was while I was following Tosca Reno’s journey. Rita was her coach while she was preparing for a competition and I followed her religiously and couldn’t wait for her next blog entry. One evening while I was on Facebook, I somehow came across a message that Rita had posted advertising specials that were running for her online training.
Coming from South Africa, it seemed too good to be true and I sent Rita an e-mail. Needless to say she replied with a big YES – JUMP ON BOARD!
I have always been somewhat of a crazy fitness freak – I love exercise and the way it makes me feel. I would download programs from the web and carry them through but for some reason I was not reaching my goals. It was only when I started training with Rita that I discovered life’s wonders such as almond flour, chia seeds and her famous protein pancakes just to name a few.
I realised then that my diet was my downfall, as much as I thought I was eating healthy, I wasn’t eating properly in respect to my goals. I unfortunately have a helluva sweet tooth which attributed to the extra padding around my upper legs and bum area. Coming from a Mediterranean background, we Greeks are known for our voluptuous figures (sounds so much better than fuller, obese figures ;).
Rita has taught me how to fuel my body properly at the right times. Rita has shown me that there is no quick fix, this is a lifelong journey, one that I may stray on from time to time but one that I will no doubt get back on to and continue. I am nowhere near perfect with my diet (that sweet tooth still haunts me) but I’ve improved tremendously with my attitude towards food. All this could not have been done without Rita’s guidance, love and encouragement.
I love the fact that nothing is ever too much for Rita. In one of my checkins, I explained how I wanted to follow a career in fitness and asked for her guidance and advice. Rita suggested that we set up some to Skype each other so that we could have a proper chat. I was blown away!! True to her word, we sat for a good hour chatting and it was wonderful!! She encouraged me to take the next step and enrol myself in a studying course which is exactly what I did! As a mother of 5 with an 8-5 job, it is certainly not easy but I’ve taken the step and for that, I am truly grateful!
Thank you Rita, for being my rock, my guide and my sunshine!!
