Tip #1 on how to avoid the Merry Muffin Top!
I will be posting a series of TIPS that I have used over the last few years to keep weight OFF during this time of year, without actually locking myself in my room avoiding the cheer! Try them and get back to me! Share them with a friend!
- Dead lift
- Work hard first……
- REPLENISH AFTER!!
TIP #1-
Train your LOWER BODY (legs, glutes, hamstrings, quads) with your heaviest load in a lower repetition range a few hours before a Christmas Party (or Christmas Dinner)- where you know you will be indulging in a little extra cheese, chocolate or bread. This POST WORKOUT meal will serve as your glycogen recovery, instead of stored as fat (as long as you don’t eat the ENTIRE block of cheese;) and the damage will be minimized!
Some exercises I recommend:
- squats (heels elevated squats, front squat, hack squat, leg press, lumberjack squat, Bulgarian split)
- lunges (static, walking, rear, wide legged, overhead hold)
- deadlifts (standard, sumo, Romanian, unilateral, Swings, glute thrusts)
- Glute ham raise (lying leg curl, stability ball or slider roll ins, sitting leg curl, one legged bridges)
- sled pushes or drags
Tomorrow I will post Tip #2- What to do the next day!
Love this keep them coming !
