Life, Under Construction
What can I say about Grace? Well, it has been a long journey with this STRONG woman. She has fought many a battle, and while a physical body transformation was just the “excuse” to work together, I believe we were put in each others lives for so much more. I now call Grace, Amazing Grace. That she is. She has pushed, grown, fallen, flourished and succeeded. What she has not done is remain the same. I am forever grateful for having this women in my life. Take it away bella!
“Lucky 13 that is how I think of 2013. I reached out to Rita via twitter one day, and to my surprise, she responded. In my first email to her, I confessed that I love reading success stories, but I don’t want to read anymore…I want to be one. I started working with Rita in December of 2012, we had an instant connection. I remember looking over the first month that she customized for me and my lifestyle, and thought – “She knows her stuff, she isn’t just throwing things at me, she is giving me what I need”.
I didn’t have much weight to lose, but that wasn’t the first thing on my mind. For years I struggled with low self-esteem on the inside, while on the outside I pretended to be happy with how I looked and what I did to get there, no one knew all the abuse I suffered at the hands of others, but the worst was the self-abuse I felt I deserved. Working with Rita not only showed me that I am stronger than I thought physically, but helped to understand the relationship between who I was, who I am and who I am becoming. I always thought that if I look a certain way, people will over look the not so perfect parts of me. With each weekly check in with Rita, with each email, I started to peel away the layers of low self esteem, self-criticism and replaced them with love and respect.
Rita is a beautiful, smart , compassionate woman, one whom when I look at and listen too, I can see, she is a true professional and a true champion, a woman who gave me the courage to believe in myself, support to keep me going and a in the process became not only a mentor, but a friend.
Rome wasn’t built in a day and life is always under construction. I am grateful to have Rita working a long side me to build a strong foundation brick by brick and one day at a time.
The best is yet to come.”
