Its been quite the journey for Minette and I. I still remember our first conversation almost 2 years ago; I knew she would succeed. She has been very positive, patient and CONSISTENT throughout her journey, and her transformation has been steady and once again, consistent. Minette is still challenging herself with my at home 12 minute workouts from BodyRock t.v. and finding a balanced lifestyle which I teach to my clients. So proud of you Minette and all you have accomplished…. and to think I wasn’t even going to put a poster up at that bakery……..so glad I did! Take it away!
“I began my wellness journey with Rita in January 2013. It all happened because I was shopping at a local Italian bakery when I saw a poster advertising Rita’s 12-week transformation challenge that was set to start Hybrid Fitness. On that poster was an inset of Rita’s “before” picture, along with her smoking hot after shot and it got me thinking about how I certainly was not feeling so hot…in fact I had been steadily gaining weight over the years and had found myself at my heaviest and feeling quite down about it and lost about where to start. Seeing the before shot of Rita inspired me to reach out and find out more about her program, knowing that she had experienced being heavier and yet had succeeded at reaching her personal best made me feel more comfortable asking her for help.
I was pretty intimidated when I started out and often questioned myself on if I could really do the program. It was a lot of hard work and I had to change EVERYTHING! But through a combination of Rita’s coaching, training with the amazing Brooke Sullivan at Hybrid Fitness and a phenomenally supportive group of local ladies that were also in the program, I started to see some amazing changes.
After the first 12-weeks wrapped up I felt so great, I took a summer break to travel and when I got back I was ready to pick up where I left off and keep working towards the best version of me! I signed up for another 12-weeks of Rita & Brooke’s 12 week transformation program and was thrilled to achieve amazing results the second time through.
When 2014 came around I was happy with how far I had come in 2013 but I still wanted more! I needed a push to keep going (as I’ve mentioned, it is HARD work – no shortcuts here!). I again reached out to Rita and this time signed up for her 12 week online program and worked one on one with her. This was a great fit for me at this time in my journey because I was looking for something more personalized. Rita knew my journey and provided me with new workouts to keep me motivated, food plans, and weekly advice through our check-ins. Through this program I’ve been able to continue to move closer to my personal goals and feel all over awesome.
Since starting this journey 18 months ago, I’ve lost 45lbs, 37inches, and a whopping 14% body fat; this is well beyond what I believed possible for myself. With these goals achieved, I continue to set new goals for myself and not just numbers on the scale goals but overall wellness goals have become a big part of my personal best vision now. Emotional well-being, physical strength, and self-confidence are just a few of the amazing new pieces of my wellness journey that now make up my personal health goals.
This has been a long, hard road, but I have never felt so rewarded by the hard work. The key is consistency and Rita has taught me, there are good days and bad days and life happens but the important thing is to just keep working at it…don’t give up, find that balance and remember, there is no “final destination” – this wellness journey is forever! Also, learn to invest in your well-being – having an amazing coach makes all the difference, with all this hard work, having someone to cheer you on and sometimes give you that hard advice is just what you need to keep going.
Rita has given me a set of skills to keep me moving in the right direction for the long haul. She’s taught me to love myself, celebrate my successes, to keep pushing myself beyond what I thought possible, to keep focused on the positive and to NEVER GIVE UP! Thank-you Rita for sharing your infinite wisdom and choosing to help those around you with the knowledge you’ve found from your own journey. That poster that I saw back at the bakery was the beginning of a life changing journey ☺.”
