Being Italian myself, and being raised in a similar fashion to my next client Mirella, I understand first-hand the struggles of overcoming a culture that has such a heavy emphasis on food- and lots of it! I support the notion of family gatherings and breaking bread together (literally), but there needs to be balance, hard work in the gym and knowing how to treat your body. I am so glad that I was able to help Mirella on her journey. I know it is not easy for her (or anyone) to share their before pictures and stories, but by doing so they can help so many others…as well as feel proud of their accomplishments! I am so proud of you Mirella, and not for the 11 pounds lost on the program, but for your newly found strength- inside and out! You were gorgeous before, but exude even more confidence now!!! I hope to look like you in 10 years!! lol Take it away bella!
“In 2012, I had started my own fitness journey. I started with running and more running and going to the gym but really had little guidance. I did do well and lost almost 30 lbs at that time. I am entering my mid forties and realized my eating habits were not so healthy. I considered myself to be the “skinny fat” person. I wasn’t comfortable in my own skin. I was happy with my results on the outside but my inner self was not at the same level.
My good friend and neighbour Dina (who is part of the 4 weeks to Fab Team) encouraged me to enrol in the Four Weeks to Fab Program. I wanted this for myself but also for my good friend Kelly. This opportunity presented itself to both of us and we jumped on board! Dina told us we would be amazed with the results and we sure are!!!!
With the support of my husband and my two children (18yrs and 15yrs) my new journey began. There were many sacrifices such as shelf space in the fridge (nobody touches my shrimp!!) and organizing meals, but it was worth every second. My family encouraged me so much that I think I am more proud of them for their support then they are of me.
Rita gave me the tools to change my life and I took this challenge head on. I dedicated myself to preparing food in advance, barbecuing sometimes at midnight, and doing the workouts everyday… to a point where I couldn’t walk on some days!! The mantra, No pain No gain is very true!!
What I never expected out of this program was the inner peace that I have achieved and the contentment of who I really am! I have made many new connections with so many fabulous ladies whom have guided and supported each other in this process. The feelings on the shoot day were unfrickingbelievable. It is hard to put in words the emotions I felt and that so many of us shared. I am beyond proud of completing this journey and the sheer satisfaction of achieving my goals is utterly rewarding! My fitness level today is even better than when I was in my twenties! My husband thanks Rita for that!! 🙂
