Debbie
When I received Debbie’s email about participating in the #4WeeksToFab program, I knew her schedule and already fit lifestyle would be a particular personal challenge…which I love! Debbie was already very athletic, but not necessarily fuelling her body correctly or doing enough “strength” training movements to compliment her hours of long distance running prep. She ran. She ran a lot. She ate the “typical” runners meal plan; bagels, bananas, energy bars and Gatorade. With Debbie it wasn’t so much as a weight goal, there were no issues there, it was a strength, confidence, and improvement goal; after all, we all have room to improve. Debbie also expressed her desire to feel great in a bikini for her upcoming wedding and subsequent honeymoon (next week), which I knew would be the “bonus” of improving strength (which she did for her runs), gaining energy, confidence and a new lifestyle. It was challenging writing up the program for Debbie who had a marathon to run the day after the photo- shoot, so I made sure we included a lot of speed and strength training, without sacrificing her time and energy levels for her race. She did amazing! The best part? We fuelled her without the need for bagels, Gatorade and Energy Bars;). I am so proud of Debbie for surpassing her goals, and for taking on this challenge. She is a ball of energy and I had a blast being with her at the shoot! Take it away Debbie!
“I have been in the fitness industry for many years and have always been “fit” and athletic but something was lacking. I was always able to achieve my athletic goals but I felt that there was room for improvement. I would count calories to loose weight and always watch what I ate, still never really getting my body to look and perform as I wanted it to. At 55, it was time to try something new so I could continue my good health.
The 4 weeks to Fab program seemed like a new approach that would help me eat healthier, tone up and get my body stronger for my favourite passion—running. I am also getting married at the end of May and wanted an amazing body to show through with my beautiful wedding dress on! I have never had a personal trainer before and with this program, I was advised what to eat, when to eat and exactly what my workout would be. I now have foods in my fridge and cupboard that I didn’t know existed. Chia Seeds, raw cocoa nibs, avocado, and egg whites are my new favourite foods. Nutrition pre and post runs has changed drastically… which has improved my times and endurance for those long run training sessions. The plan was incredible! The online coaching was fantastic. Rita is the most inspirational person I know and her knowledge of nutrition and training techniques is off the charts! (not to mention that she is drop dead gorgeous) The program held me accountable and pushed me to work harder as I had a “plan” and I cannot believe the results. I lost 8 lbs on an already small frame and inches everywhere. The strength training has not only visibly toned my body but has made me stronger which has allowed me to run faster than I have in a long time.
To cap off the journey? A photo shoot.! How absolutely fun was this! Getting all glammed up for the day with tan, hair and makeup (oh those false eyelashes…loved them) and a photographer who just made me laugh and feel so comfortable. I will never forget that day. Thank you Dina, Florencia and Paula!
I look forward to my continued success on this journey and am proud to have been part of this program along with all the fantastic women who participated with me. CHEERS!!!”
