Its been 2 weeks now since my Rita Weekend here in London, Ontario where 20 of my online clients from all over the world came together to experience my world; training intensely, cooking up gourmet food, tasting my favourite healthy treats, digging deep on the emotional journey and creating bonds with other women. One of the tastings I wanted to bring the women at the retreat to was at a local Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar Tasting. The Olive Oil & Me Co run by Missy Haggarty, is an amazing spot that opened up my culinary world to amazing possibilities! The flavour profiles of the different white and dark balsamic vinegars inspire you to create wonderful dishes that do not only have amazing health benefits, but also taste fantastic.
Balsamic vinegar is more than just a “salad topper”- it can be added to drizzle and marinate meats, add to your water bottle (pineapple ginger water anyone?), incorporate in baked goods, and my favourite, to use the naturally thickened raspberry chocolate (all made with natural products- no aromas) drizzled on top of my Beauty Fuel Banana Bread- the perfect post-workout treat! I loved the fact that we were able to sample the vast amount of vinegars and oils before purchasing them. I found a new favourite….While Coconut Balsamic! I will be making an upcoming Caribbean Chicken inspired dish with this…stay tuned!
