Diana is a family friend and lived down the street from my Nonna and Nonno’s house growing up. We kept in touch throughout the years and the latest news was that she was living in Winnipeg. When she reached out to me this Spring to partake in the 4 Weeks to Fab Program, I was excited but also let her know that the shoot was taking place in London, Ontario. No problem! Diana was ready to jump on a plane and celebrate her 50th with her goals smashed and feeling brand new! Diana was very inquisitive throughout the whole process, and due to her scientific background, she wanted to know all of the “whys”. I think that is why she was so successful in her transformation as well. I am very proud of Diana and loved her energy and vibrancy on set!! If this is what 50 is…then sign me up!
“I’ve been active all of my life, and several years ago started weight training at the gym at work to lose those last 10 pounds and tone-up. Then in the summer of 2012 my mother’s dementia worsened and my brother and I had to make some tough decisions. Throughout that next 1 1/2 years we all struggled and I gained another 15-20 pounds through comfort eating and few to no trips to the gym. I did not even recognize the person I had become. In January of this year, after things had settled, I decided that I had a goal. I would be turning 50 on July 1st- and I wanted to get healthy. I had 6 months ahead of me. By joining an amazing spin class at work I was able to lose 10 pounds in one month. Then things went up and down and I plateaued . In the Spring I was checking facebook and saw one of my childhood friends (Barb) looking amazing. I contacted her sister Mary, and along with my cousin Angie we decided to embark on this journey together. It was hard to take the time to focus on myself – but with the support of my boyz I stuck to it. I was so happy to get back to the weight training that I loved, and the food plan made me feel amazing everyday. I’ve known Rita since she was a little girl- you are an inspiration Rita, keep doing what you do; empowering women to appreciate themselves inside and out! Thank you to the 4WTF team, Florencia, Paula and Dina- I am so happy to have met you and that I had the good fortune to spend some time with each of you- you made me feel like a true fitness model. The online support, tips, ideas and encouragement from the 4WTF women is amazing. I am so happy that I found myself again- and that I made that goal to be Fab at 50!!
