Where do I start with Julie. Well, my initial reaction when I received her application to the program with her before pictures was, “WOW, she looks great! She doesn’t need me?”. Then I read her story, understood her goals, and stopped in my tracks just as quickly as I “pre-judged” her and was thrilled to help her achieve her goals of lifting heavier, eating better and taking care of herself from the inside out. I was thrilled when Julie came in all the way from Montreal for the shoot. She was such an enchanting woman and a real fighter! I love her honesty in her post and sharing her struggles of relationship and keeping it real is most inspirational. Thank you Julie for opening up your heart and soul to us! Take it away!
“I had a few months off back in March and decided to join a gym; not to lose weight but to build some muscle and be toned. Although I had seen some results, it just wasn’t what I was hoping for after almost 3 months of hard work. My long time close friend Liz had posted some pictures on Facebook of her May 4 Weeks To Fab photo shoot and I couldn’t believe the transformation in just 4 weeks … I knew I had to be part of this … I immediately emailed Rita and she accepted me into her next 4WTF.
Being single at 56 is far from easy…self- confidence wasn’t my strongest trait.
In February I started a relationship with someone that I knew would end in heartache but went forward anyway. Then like a fool I went back to that relationship just before I started 4 weeks to Fab. Then of course, as I imagines, 6 days before the photo shoot my heart was broken once more. My last and toughest week … I was scared to lose motivation and give up entirely. After crying for 2 days, I picked myself up off the ground and decided I was not going to cry anymore for someone who did not deserve my tears and couldn’t see all I had to offer. I had a goal, and I was not going to give up. I decided to take control of my life and my emotions and not depend on someone else for my happiness. The truth is, if it were not for 4WTF program, I probably would still be on the ground crying.
I must admit I still have sad days . All women go through heartbreak, crisis and setbacks in life but they must find ways to get through it. 4WTF was my way!!! Whether the 4WTF women were at the happiest or saddest times in their lives , I’m sure they all will agree that they have gained self confidence and learned to be proud of themselves to have achieved their goals.
I’m so honoured to be part of this wonderful group of women that supported each through the process. A big thanks of course goes to Rita and her wonderful team: Dina, Paula and Florencia. You made us all feel special ! We all had a common goal, supported each other and succeeded and became better women for it. I’m proud of our group and the prior groups before. I remembered something Rita had said in her pep talk: If your not thinking positive … Positive shit ain’t gonna happen! That’s exactly right!
Rita has started a revolution! To make woman not only proud of their bodies, but mostly proud of their accomplishments and give them the most precious gift of all … Greater Self Esteem!”
Thank you Rita!!!!!!
